A little about Us ~
We established Harmony Hollow Farm in 2006. When we moved here there was only a house sticking out of a grown up chunk of pasture. We have worked very hard over the last several years to make our farm look as it does today. Jennifer has been the dreamer and designer, and Bud has worked very hard to help make the dreams become a reality. We have built our workshop and all of our animal housing ourselves. As much as possible, we have used recycled materials for the construction of all of our coops and the goat housing right down to the framing materials, windows, doors, and vinyl siding. We have fenced and cross-fenced our land to keep everyone as safe as we possibly can from the predators and stray domestic animals. Our current resident population includes our family of 3, 2 dogs, 3 cats, 2 corn snakes, 2 gerbils, 5 African Soft Fur Rats, 2 parakeets, 6 goats, dual purpose chickens, bantam chickens, guineas, a pair of turkeys, 16 ducks, and 4 geese. This population tends to fluctuate during the year as we have babies hatch and get sold.
Our property is listed on the National Wildlife Federation website as a Certified Backyard Habitat. We are also in the process of getting our property certified through the 1000 Water Gardens in York County program.
In the fall of 2011, we are planning on adding a small orchard to produce our own apples, pears, peaches, and plums as well. Our farm continues to be an ever-evolving work in progress.
